In the geography of the Vatican Museums all roads lead to the Sistine Chapel. This is the building where the Cardinals up to this very day still elect the Pope, voting before the Last Judgment and under the vault with the creation of Adam which was frescoed by Michelangelo.
Saint Peter’s Basilica (skip the line)
The Vatican tour will take you inside the largest church in the world, built on the tomb of the Prince of the Apostles, St. Peter. The greatest geniuses of the Renaissance and of the Baroque have contributed to make it a unique building that houses the only statue that bears Michelangelo’s signature, the Pietà.
